2021 Honda CR-V Review

The 2021 model year of the CR-V continues to be a compelling and desirable choice in the compact crossover segment. The intelligent design is unmatched, as well as the thoughtful features in this vehicle that will excite consumers for the ownership experience for this vehicle. For young families in particular, the CR-V will really be an attractive solution to their driving and transporting needs.

The CR-V features one engine across the lineup. It’s a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder with 190 horsepower and 179lb/ft of torque. The entry level trim comes with front wheel drive but can be optioned to feature all-wheel-drive. The remaining CR-V trims will all have the Real-Time AWD as standard. The sole transmission is a CVT; this transmission can eke out as much fuel efficiency from the engine as possible, but also provide quick responsiveness when gaining speed. The towing capability of the CR-V is 1500lbs, giving prospective buyers the confidence that this small but mighty engine has enough grunt to tow or store most household items. Standard features of the 2021 CR-V include heated front seats, remote engine start, the HondaSensing suite of active driving assistance and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The model featured here is the Sport variant, a new trim that was added to the CR-V lineup when the vehicle went through its midlife refresh in 2020. This Sport model features unique 19’’ shark grey wheels and exclusive interior materials with some additional equipment, such as a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, LED fog lamps, and the innovative Honda LaneWatch display and camera system.

The aforementioned intelligent design of the CR-V is one of its best characteristics. For consumers looking for a compact crossover with the most usable and versatile interior space, look no further than a CR-V. The second row of seating feels as spacious and as comfortable as most midsize SUVs and these seats spilt fold down to create a flat floor from the trunk. The trunk itself has a very low loading lip, meaning items don’t have to be lifted so high from the ground as some of the CR-V’s rivals. For young families, the wide opening rear doors will be especially useful when loading and securing baby seats. The front of the cabin can easily accommodate day-to-day items as the CR-V has a customizable centre console and very large door pockets. Front seating is quite spacious for this class too, as taller drivers will notice.

The 2021 Honda CR-V is a fantastic choice is this very popular vehicle segment. Other available features on higher trims of the CR-V include full-leather seating, heated rear seats, wireless charging, and so much more!
